TSUTSUMU

wrapping

In Japan, wrapping was a chic way of expressing care and consideration for the recipient, and in some cases, a sense of stylishness.

The character "包" which is said to be derived from the shape of a fetus being nurtured in its mother's belly, has the meaning of wrapping or protecting something important.

And "装" has the meaning of decorating or arranging.

Thus, "wrapping (包装)" has not only the practical aspect of carrying, but also the meaning of presenting or carefully protecting something to someone important.
